I had a 3.8 in highs chool and a 1350 on the SAT. I ended up going to community college though. My advice is if think wisely. Community college is cheaper, but, depending on what you want to do, you can get stuck there forever. Normally you can transfer to a 4-year university as a junior within 2 years which is normal and make sense. On the other hand, if you're pursuing engineering or the sciences it takes a hell of a long longer. On average it takes 4 years just to transfer to a 4-year college as a junior, meaning you just wasted two years. Why does it take so long? Well, the agreements under engineering having like pages and pages of courses. Furthermore, those courses each have like 10 prerequisites under them that the community colleges require you to take. At a 4-year university you would've just started right at those courses listed, instead of doing a bunch of pointless pre requisites like “Introduction to Computers”. Luckily I'm in Comp Sci and finished all my math in high school and tested out of those pointless Pre Reqs. So I'll be out in two years. But yeah, it'd be wise to think. Don't think community is such a smart path because sometimes it can mess you up.
